Convergence Realised.
To represent these ideals, the DuePoint team realised they were trying to converge four very separate objectives into one. A marriage of chaos into order. A convergence of hope, destiny and opportunity for its members.
The concept of “Chaos to Order” or “Convergence” is evident everywhere in nature and therefore evident in our lives.
Represented by the natural term “Dew Point”, water molecules in the air condense in the cool of the early morning into water droplets as the Dew Point temperature is reached. Chaotically blown and moved about without order or pattern while up in the air, molecules are at a certain point brought to order in the form of priceless, life-giving water.
In the same vein, we find chaos brought to order in the calming effect of the stabilisation of direction. The saying: “Finding one’s true North” means that moment when you know you have found your purpose, direction, standards and goals. Spoken in directional terms, the same is reflected in the phrases: “Due North, Due East, Due South and Due West. Purpose and direction found.

OUR HISTORY
How does DuePoint work?
DuePoint was founded on 1 August 2015 and launched to the public on 8 February 2016 as a direct access e-portal.
DuePoint was originally established to assist the Constantia Insurance Group in obtaining better market penetration while simultaneously answering the Department of Trade and Industry’s call for larger organisations assisting in and creating more opportunity for individuals to form, become better acquainted with, and successfully participate in their own small businesses.
DuePoint wished to cater to the growing market segment of younger consumers who expect highly interactive digital experiences, complete with price transparency, as well as fast and even instant, product delivery. DuePoint became Constantia’s first online direct division, allowing it to reach customers who otherwise may not have been accessible through or responsive to the more traditional channels already available in the market. In time DuePoint developed into an independent entity and FSP, allowing multiple insurers to display and sell their products on the e-portal and distribution system DuePoint had built.
DuePoint provides a wide and ever-expanding array of products to the public through its online e-portal. Potential customers are able to visit the portal and purchase these products without the intervention or involvement of a call centre, agency or brokerage. This better caters to the modernising nature of South Africa’s current consumers and expedites the process of product purchases for customers significantly.
It is important to note, however, that the products displayed on DuePoint’s e-portal are not DuePoint’s but rather those placed on our e-portal by independent product owners. All products placed on the e-portal are displayed with a full review video explaining all the material terms and conditions and risks (if any) and a comprehensive fact sheet on the specific product. In addition, all prospective customers can contact DuePoint’s Client Service team for any specific questions they may have.
DuePoint appoints certain individuals as what for our own purposes are referred to as “Wealth Engineers” (“WEs”). All WEs are appointed according to a strict mandate referred to as “The Wealth Engineers Code of Conduct” (“The Code”).
The scope, role and activity of the WE is described in detail within this Code.
WEs may not hold themselves out as, or act as, intermediaries or advisers. They are accordingly independent contractors whose function is merely to direct persons to the DuePoint website. WEs are merely tasked with attracting and directing people to DuePoint’s website. The people they direct to the website are people they may know or might otherwise encounter in their daily lives. The DuePoint website then outlines for these individuals everything they need to know about DuePoint, becoming a WE (if they so choose) and the insurer products and services available on the DuePoint e-portal.
Through the above mentioned process and the specialist construction of DuePoint’s website, Insurers are able to convert this deeper penetration into the South African market into leads for potential new product purchases. Where interest is had in the comprehensive materials found on the website, the person concerned may complete an application form provided on the website. The potential product applicant is able to study, read, download and print a product fact sheet prior to possible purchase and the completion of the online application form. Application to purchase may only be made online by individual applicants themselves and in their own right. The application form is completed by the interested party only and is designed among other things to ensure that the applicant has both desired to purchase and understood and accepted the product they have selected before it is submitted electronically to DuePoint.
DuePoint, via its website, offers individuals three distinct options:
- Apply to DuePoint to become a WE only; OR
- Apply via the e-portal to become an endorsed product owner only; OR
- Both 1 & 2 above.
Where a person who has been directed to DuePoint’s website has purchased a product, all payments for that product are made directly by the product owner to the insurer or the affiliated product provider. At no time are funds paid by clients to or through any third parties. No additional or lump-sum payments of any kind are ever payable as a product owner or a WE. The only payments made by DuePoint clients are for the products purchased. No additional payment is made to participate as a WE.
WEs are rewarded a fixed lead fee for introducing persons who make their purchases through the DuePoint website. As per the Code, WEs are remunerated only where someone they directed to DuePoint’s website was successfully converted into a lead by DuePoint, and then in-turn became a product owner, who in-turn successfully pays for the product.
DuePoint is based on sustainable and sound financial principles, applying all applicable legislation to both its structure and WE remuneration rules.
